Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama was born on January 17, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois. Michelle Obama was the first African American First Lady of the United States. She became a role model who would positively influence the world view of African Americans. Her memoir “Becoming” was one of the bestselling books of the decade. She won the 2020 Grammy award for “Best Spoken Word” album. Michelle Obama was named 2008 TIME Woman of the Year. Michelle Obama extensively campaigned for her husband Barack Obama’s presidential bid throughout 2007- 2008 and was a driving force behind his nomination.
